Yin Yoga & Meditation with Michelle
Personal growth and stress management are perfectly complemented by Yin Yoga. This form of yoga allows for easing tension from your body and connecting the breath and body while calming the mind.
In finding stillness of the mind and body, you can surrender to the present moment. When we find this kind of surrender, we are easing away anxiety and stress. This one-hour class is designed to keep you in a state of tranquility while gently keeping your body flexible.
Yin Yoga stems from Taoism integrated with Traditional Chinese Medicine and the meridian energy system. In Yin Yoga, we are seeking sensation; we are not seeking a perfect pose. Yin Yoga is accessible to every body type using gravity and a variety of props. It is a peaceful and beautiful practice for igniting the parasympathetic nervous system response, releasing past trauma from the physical body, lubricating the joints, increasing flexibility, and allowing for a balanced breath-body connection.
A few options of each pose will be offered for ease and comfort. We practice these slow-paced, sitting or lying poses in a mindful and passive way, holding each for 3 to 5 minutes. This allows the muscles to relax, so we can go deeper into the connective tissue, fascia, ligaments, and joints.
