Breathwork Classes & Somatic Breathwork Journeys
At Inspired Mind Matters Wellness Studio, our breathwork classes and Somatic Breathwork Journeys are designed to help you regulate your nervous system, release stored stress and tension, improve mind-body connection, and access deeper states of healing, clarity, and emotional balance through the power of conscious breathing.
Led by Michelle Svendsen — a triple-certified breathwork facilitator, trauma-informed coach, meditation teacher, and holistic wellness practitioner with over 11 years of experience in nervous system regulation and mind-body healing modalities — these sessions combine ancient breathing practices with modern science-backed stress management techniques.
You will learn calming breath techniques for relaxation and anxiety relief, energizing breathing styles to increase focus and vitality, and advanced breathwork practices such as Somatic Breathwork, Tummo-inspired breathing, Bhastrika, breath retentions, and conscious connected over-breathing techniques. Each class includes education on the “why” behind the breathing methods, helping you better understand how your breath directly impacts your nervous system, stress response, emotional regulation, energy levels, and overall well-being.
Through guided over-breathing and intentional breath retentions, participants learn how to recognize and override stress patterns within the body, increase oxygen efficiency, improve lung capacity, support cardiovascular health, and activate the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Breathwork can help improve resilience to stress, emotional processing, mental clarity, focus, sleep quality, and overall nervous system regulation while fostering a deeper connection to your body and inner self.
Somatic Breathwork Journey Experience
Join Michelle for a deeply immersive Somatic Breathwork Journey designed to help you release stress, reconnect with yourself, and enter a grounded yet expanded flow state. Each journey is carefully curated with guided meditation, intentional breathing patterns, somatic awareness techniques, breath retentions, and specially curated music to support emotional release, nervous system healing, energetic alignment, and deep relaxation.
Sessions begin with education about the breathing methods being used, including the physical, emotional, and neurological benefits as well as important contraindications and safety considerations surrounding advanced breathwork and breath retention practices. You will then be guided through a brief meditation before moving into the active breathing portion of the journey.
During the experience, participants may notice physical sensations such as tingling, warmth, temperature fluctuations, emotional release, mental clarity, vivid imagery, deep relaxation, or feelings of euphoria and bliss. Every experience is unique, as breathwork is deeply personal and works differently for each individual. Michelle creates a safe, trauma-informed, supportive environment where participants are encouraged to honor their own bodies and move at a pace that feels comfortable and empowering.
What to Wear & Bring
Dress comfortably and in layers, as body temperature can fluctuate during breathwork practices. Yoga mats, blankets, and eye masks are available for use at the studio, though you are welcome to bring pillows, blankets, bolsters, or any personal comfort items that help you feel supported. Socks are highly recommended. Water, towels, and hot tea are provided at the Inspired Mind Matters Wellness Studio. Amenities may vary for off-site events and workshops.
