SUMMARY:Somatic Breathwork Journey with Optional Cold Plunge
DESCRIPTION:Join Michelle as she leads you on a Somatic Breathwork Journey. This session will start with a description of why and how to use this breathing method\, including the benefits\, and contraindications for breath retentions. You will be guided through a short meditation to begin your journey. As we start breathing in rhythm with the specially selected music you may feel sensations\, have thoughts of visions\, and feel complete relaxation and sometimes pure bliss and/or euphoria. The outcomes are different for everyone as it is a deeply personal experience. Somatic Breathing is a powerful tool in the release of stress and anxiety. Every effort will be made to ensure you feel safe and supported throughout your journey no matter where it takes you. \nLearn how to manage your stress response\, teach your body to use oxygen more efficiently\, strengthen lung capacity\, improve heart rate\, and blood pressure\, and tap into your own feel-good chemicals all with your own breath! \nDress comfortably! We yoga mats and blankets for you but feel free to bring pillows\, blankets\, eye masks\, and any props that may make you more comfortable. Often people go between hot and cold while practicing breathwork so we recommend socks. Towels\, water and hot tea will be provided. \nThis is a 1.5 hour session $35 for breathwork only or $45 for breathwork and cold therapy plunge if you pre-register/pay.\nDrop in welcome at $40 / $50\nTo pre-register for this class\, or to get more information please send a FB message or email michelle@inspiredmindmatters.com. \nOptional Cold Plunge in one of our 2 personal portable cold tubs located in the studio patio. \nBenefits to cold plunge include but are not limited to: \n\nReduce inflammation and swelling\nPromote lymphatic drainage\nRegulate hormones\nAccelerate metabolism\nStress Reduction\nImproves sleep and skin\nReleases dopamine and endorphins\nHelps improve your stress response\n\nContraindications for over breathing\, breath retentions\, and cold therapy are below: \nBreathwork is not advised for persons with a history of cardiovascular disease\, including angina or heart attack\, family history of aneurysms\, severe asthma\, high blood pressure\, glaucoma\, retinal detachment\, osteoporosis\, significant recent physical injuries\, or surgery without first speaking with a medical professional. For people with severe mental illness\, seizure disorders or for people prescribed certain medications. Consult your physician if you are pregnant before starting any kind of breathwork. \nCold therapy is not advised for anyone with cardiovascular disease\, have heart disease\, currently pregnant\, have Reynaud’s Syndrome\, have high blood pressure\, have circulatory problems\, have a pacemaker\, have hypertension\, or have an open wound.
